However, the passing score is basically the same as the current test. N2 is basically the same as the level of the original Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2. N3 is between the level of the second and third levels of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (newly established). N4 is basically the same as the level of the original Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 3. N5 is basically the same as the level of the original Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 4.
